RBI Grade B 2027 Eligibility
For Grade B (DR) – General. The established eligibility framework below is a preparation reference, not a confirmed 2027 notification. DEPR and DSIM have different specialist requirements.
AGE LIMIT
Minimum: 21 years
Maximum: below 30 years on RBI’s prescribed cut-off date.
Exact 2027 DOB range will be added only after the official notification.
EDUCATION
Graduation: 60% aggregate in any discipline/equivalent technical or professional qualification; 50% for eligible SC/ST/PwBD candidates where applicable.
OR Post-graduation: 55% aggregate; pass marks for eligible SC/ST/PwBD where applicable.
AGE RELAXATION
SC/ST: +5 years
OBC: +3 years where eligible
M.Phil.: upper age 32
Ph.D.: upper age 34
PwBD / eligible experience / ex-servicemen: relaxation as specified by RBI conditions.
ATTEMPTS
General/EWS: maximum 6 Phase-I appearances under the latest official rule.
SC/ST/OBC/PwBD: the six-attempt restriction does not apply where the official conditions are satisfied; age and other eligibility rules still apply.
NATIONALITY
Indian citizens and other categories permitted under RBI/Government of India eligibility rules may apply. Certain Nepal/Bhutan subjects, Tibetan refugees and eligible persons of Indian origin can be subject to eligibility-certificate requirements.
FRESHERS & EXPERIENCE
Freshers can apply. Prior work experience is not compulsory for RBI Grade B (DR) General. Certain eligible banking/financial-sector officer experience can affect age relaxation subject to RBI’s stated conditions.

RBI Grade B Exam Structure
Phase I: General Awareness, Reasoning, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude — 200 marks.
Phase II: Economic & Social Issues, English Writing Skills, Finance & Management — 300 marks.
Final Stage: Interview after qualifying Phase II, as per RBI rules.
Preparation system: concepts + PYQs + DPPs + sectional tests + full mocks + descriptive writing + current affairs + RBI reports + weak-area tracking.
Preparation strategy: build speed and accuracy for Phase I while starting Phase II concepts and descriptive practice alongside it.
Exam rules: confirm sectional timings, negative marking, cut-offs, paper formats and interview requirements in your cycle’s official notification and examination handout.

01 · Phase I foundations
- Quantitative aptitude: percentages, ratios, averages, profit/loss, interest, time/work, speed/distance and data interpretation.
- Reasoning: puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogisms, inequalities, coding, directions and logical reasoning.
- English: comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction and paragraph organisation.
- General awareness: current affairs, banking, financial awareness, economic developments and RBI updates.
02 · Phase II depth
- Economic & Social Issues: growth, inflation, poverty, employment, Indian economy, social issues and policy analysis.
- Finance & Management: financial systems and markets, banking, risk, management principles, leadership, motivation, communication and ethics.
- English writing: essays, précis and comprehension; timed keyboard practice and clear expression.
03 · Current affairs to interview
Connect Budget and Economic Survey themes, RBI publications and government schemes to ESI/FM concepts. Practise explaining issues, assessing their impact and forming balanced conclusions. Connect your background and motivation to an understanding of the economy for interview preparation.
A preparation system you can follow

- Weeks 1–6 · Build: diagnose your level, learn concepts, start a current-affairs notebook and short-answer practice.
- Weeks 7–12 · Apply: work through previous-year questions, sectional tests and weekly revision. Record why each mistake occurred.
- Weeks 13–18 · Strengthen: practise timed mocks and descriptive answers. Revisit weak topics before adding more tests.
- Weeks 19–24 · Simulate: practise exam conditions, revise your error log and consolidate current affairs. Adapt once official dates are known.

RBI application fees & category concessions
2026 official reference: General/OBC/EWS ₹850 + 18% GST (₹1,003); SC/ST/PwBD ₹100 + 18% GST (₹118). These are not confirmed 2027 fees. Verify your cycle’s notice before payment.
RBI age/qualification relaxations and reservation benefits depend on official conditions and valid certificates. They do not automatically give a YTC coaching discount. Ask about any available concession before enrolment; no unannounced scholarship is promised.

Can beginners or working professionals prepare?
Yes. Start with a diagnostic and a realistic weekly schedule. Your pace depends on existing skills, time and consistency. Discuss your availability in the strategy session.
Does this cover DEPR or DSIM?
This page focuses on Grade B (DR) General. Do not assume the displayed plans cover the specialist DEPR or DSIM syllabi.
Do I need a commerce degree or banking experience?
The General stream accepts eligible qualifications across disciplines; prior banking experience is not compulsory under the reference framework. Check marks, recognition and cut-off requirements in the official notice.
How do the plans differ?
Group offers structured coverage and practice. Special adds closer performance review and descriptive feedback. Personal 1-to-1 focuses on an individual roadmap and mentoring. Confirm session and evaluation allocations before payment.
Are recordings and resources included?
The Group plan lists recordings, notes, practice papers and mocks; Special includes the Group offering. Confirm access duration, delivery platform and Personal 1-to-1 inclusions with YTC.
Is selection or an RBI job guaranteed?
No. YTC provides coaching and mentorship. RBI controls recruitment, eligibility, examinations and selection.
